Use a free English lesson board
Use a complete starter lesson, then adapt it to your learner.
Tutors teaching English to teens aged 14+ and adults.
What you end up with
You have a private, editable six-page board. You can also copy the original template for a student with English as a subject.
What to do
Choose a lesson
Open Free lessons from Boards. Read the goal, level, prerequisites and scope. The collection has three lessons at A2, B1 and B2; it is a starter set, not a complete course.
Try the guest board
Move cards, write or draw, and switch between lesson pages. Full screen gives you more space; use the zoom controls and Fit page for an overview. On a touchscreen, pinch to zoom. Reset this page restores only the current page. Reloading removes unsaved guest edits.
Save edits or the original template
Before editing, choose Open the board in the workspace. Use Save my board before signing in or registering for free, then continue in the same browser. After signing in, name and create your private board; no student is needed. Use in a lesson in the public preview copies the original template without guest edits. To copy it for a student, select a student who has English as a subject or add that subject to their record.
Prepare for your learner
Change text and examples, move activities, or remove pages you do not need. Copies are independent. Your saved board uses the normal board storage and account limits.
Keep the keys separate
The lesson page and copy dialog link to a separate teacher PDF. Practice answers are in that PDF, not in the student scene. The student PDF is a printable copy of the board. Both files are in English. The notes are freely accessible, so do not use these tasks as a secure test.
Good to know
- CEFR levels are editorial estimates. The lessons use American English and have not yet been trialed with a teacher and learner.
- The English boards are discussion activities, not automatically graded homework. You can use your own answer-key exercises separately.
If something goes wrong
- My student is not available for this lesson
- Check that the student is active and has English in their subjects. A read-only student or account limit can prevent creating a new board. A private board needs no student.
- My changes disappeared after I reloaded the guest board
- Unsaved guest edits are temporary. Open the board in the workspace before editing and save before signing in, using the same browser. You can also export the board from the editor menu before closing it.
